North Hall's Victoria Rogers from NHHS wins the girls race Thursday at the Hall County Championship.
GAINESVILLE – The North Hall boys ran away with the Hall County Cross Country Championships while Chestatee and North Hall finished in a rare tie for the girls title Thursday at Chestatee Academy. The Lady Trojans, however, won a tiebreaker to win the girls title.
The North Hall boys placed the top three runners and eight of the top nine overall to whip the field with just 17 points to 86 for second place Lakeview Academy. Witt Nix won the event in a 16:34 time beating teammate Tucker Locicero by 12 seconds. Fellow Trojan Bryce Schuebert finished third. Lakeview’s Dustin Snyder was fourth with a 17:15 time.
In the boys race, Gainesville finished third with 100 points, Chestatee was fourth with 107, West Hall fifth at 120, Johnson sixth with 138 points, and Riverside Military Academy was seventh at 159 points.
In the girls competition, North Hall’s Victoria Rogers won the individual race with a 20:13 time beating Sara Beth English of Chestatee, who finished in a 20:38 time. In the rest of the top five, Tori Mullinax of Chestatee finished third, Gainesville’s Breanna Fair was fourth, and Makayla Ellis of North Hall was fifth.
In the girls team competition, West Hall finished third with 79 points, Gainesville was fourth at 99 points, Johnson took fifth with 116 points, and East Hall was sixth at 129 points.
