DAHLONEGA - North Georgia College & State University (NGCSU) will welcome Georgia first lady Sandra Deal, a retired school teacher, Wednesday for a summit on adult learning in Lumpkin County.

The Adult Learning in Lumpkin Summit will explore the impact literacy and under-educated workers have on the county's economy.

Sponsored by state Senator Steve Gooch, the summit will feature, in addition to Deal, key business, education and community leaders from the area. Hosted by North Georgia College & State University, the session will be co-sponsored by the Adult Literacy Program, Lanier Technical College, the Lumpkin County Literacy Coalition and the Lumpkin Development Authority.

It will begin at 10:00 and is scheduled to conclude at 12:30. It will be held in the NGCSU dining hall.
