Highway 52 East in Ellijay reopens after morning wreck

ELLIJAY - Gilmer County authorities said a dump truck and a tractor trailer collided just before 10:00 Monday morning on Highway 52 East at Owltown Road.

The highway was closed in both directions well into the afternoon.

The Georgia State Patrol said one person was injured, but they had no word on the extent of the injuries.


Meanwhile, Highway 140 at I-575 in Canton was closed while crews clean up an overturned big rig. (See photo)
