ROME -- The Piedmont College women's golf team finished in sixth place out of 17 schools at the Chick-Fil-A Collegiate Invitational hosted by Berry College at Stonebridge Golf Club Oct. 1-2. The Lady Lions carded a two-day total of 334-321655, marking the team's best score in five trips to the event.

The field featured predominately NAIA schools with five participating NCAA Division III teams. Cumberland University won the event with a team score of 313-305--618. PC narrowly missed a top-five result, finishing just three strokes behind Coastal Georgia College.

Katarina Hodge of Dublin earned All-Tournament honors with a team-best 79-76155, which was good for a tie for 5th out of 96 golfers. The sophomore shaved three strokes off her first-round score to move up six spots to finish in fifth.

Cayla Banks of Tyrone rebounded strong from an opening round 90 to post a second-day 75 which marks a career low for the senior. Banks' 90-75--165 was good for a tie for 36th.
