Softball: 7-AAA tourney resumes at East Hall
By Jeff Hart Staff
RABBITTOWN – Dawson County and Buford already have qualified for the Class AAA state softball tournament. The two highly-ranked teams will have to wait to see who will join them in Region 7-AAA when the region tournament resumes Wednesday at East Hall Park.
Host East Hall and Class AAA seventh-ranked Fannin County will play for one of the two remaining spots while White County and Banks County will battle for the other spot in a pair of 4 p.m. games.
Fannin County beat East Hall 4-0 last month and Banks County beat White County 5-3 last month in the regular season.
The winners of those two games will then face each other at 6 p.m. while Buford and Dawson County also will play at 6 p.m. for a spot in the finals. The fourth-ranked Lady Tigers knocked off No. 1 Buford 5-3 in the regular season finale last week.
The tournament will then move to the home of the winner between Buford and Dawson County on Thursday beginning at 4 p.m. The finals will be held at 6 p.m., and a deciding game, if necessary, will be at 8 p.m.
The top four teams move on to the state tournament, which begins next week.
