Franklin Co. cabinet maker charged with theft by deception
ROYSTON - A Franklin County grand jury has indicted a cabinet maker on charges of theft by deception.
Channel 2 News in Atlanta reported that several customers have claimed they have paid Joe Alan Graham thousands of dollars for work he never completed or work that he completed inadequately.
Many of those cases will have to be handled as civil matters, according to the television station repor, but Tim Flinn's case has become a criminal issue.
Flinn has claimed he and his wife paid Graham $8,000 for custom cabinetry last year and have not received the cabinets yet. He said Graham gave them a total of 17 excuses for the delay.
Graham told the television station that Flinn and the other complainants are "disbruntled customers." He said there is no basis for any of the complaints.
Graham apparently advertised his cabinet-building business on the internet, claiming that he built cabinetry for prices up to 50-percent lower than big box competitors.
