Allergy and Asthma Care Center joins Northeast Georgia Physicians Group

GAINESVILLE - Northeast Georgia Physicians Group Friday announced that Andy Nish, MD; Kimberly Shanks, MD; Lauren Britt, FNP-C; Susan Brown, CRNP; and the staff of the Allergy and Asthma Care Center have joined the group. The new name of the practice is Northeast Georgia Physicians Group (NGPG) Allergy and Asthma. Patients will see the same staff, in the same offices, with the same phone numbers and addresses.

Dr. Nish has practiced medicine in Gainesville since 1994. He received his medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, Ga. Dr. Nish completed his pediatric training in the U.S. Air Force in Biloxi, Miss., followed by allergy-immunology training in San Antonio, Tex. He is board certified in pediatrics and allergy-immunology. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and the American Academy and College of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology.

Dr. Shanks completed her bachelor’s of science in biochemistry at the University of Georgia. She earned her medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta and completed her pediatrics training at Wake Forest University before entering her allergy-immunology training at Baylor University in Houston, Tex. Dr. Shanks is board certified in pediatrics and allergy-immunology. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and American Academy and College of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology.

“We are excited to join Northeast Georgia Physicians Group,” says Dr. Nish. “We have been a part of the Gainesville community for more than 13 years and opened our Braselton location more than three years ago. We look forward to continuing to serve our patients and providing the same high quality care for many years to come.”

NGPG Allergy and Asthma is located in Gainesville, at 2510 Limestone Parkway, and in Braselton, at Medical Plaza 1, at 5875 Thompson Mill Road and is an affiliate of Northeast Georgia Health System.
