Cornelia police investigating gunshot deathBy Rob Moore Editor CORNELIA – Cornelia police remained on the scene of a gunshot death in the city as of midnight, some four hours after being dispatched to the home initially.
Cornelia police believe the case involved a self-inflicted gunshot wound, but chose to call in a crime scene technician from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation. “The GBI was called for precautionary measures to make sure there was no foul play,” said Cornelia Police Chief Rick Darby. Officers from Baldwin Police Department and the Habersham County Sheriff's office also responded, with sheriff's deputies answering calls in the city while Cornelia police were involved with the investigation. © Copyright 2013 AccessNorthGa.com
