North Hall coach Bob Christmas, left, and Dawson County coach Jeff Lee will lead their teams into a Region 7-AAA showdown on Friday in Dawsonville.
From the time the schedules came out, both North Hall and Dawson County have had this game circled -- and with good reason.

North Hall has been one of the top programs in northeast Georgia since 2002, while Dawson County is looking to make a statement that they are amongst the best in northeast Georgia right now.

It’s safe to say that whichever program wins Friday night’s showdown between the two teams in Dawsonville can say they are amongst the best in Region 7-AAA. And if you can say that, that’s all that really matters in a region that contains some of the best programs in the state.

Friday’s game should present an interesting battle between North Hall’s ground attack and Dawson County’s wide-open offense. The Trojans enter the contest rushing for over 327 yards per contest, while the Tigers are passing for almost 300 yards per game. Both programs also offer athletic defenses that thrive on creating chaos.

Earlier this week Access North Georgia.com sports editor Morgan Lee caught up with members of the Dawson County and North Hall squads to talk about their seasons so far and Friday's region showdown. To watch the video presentation, simply press “play” below.

Both programs are primed for the contest, understanding that -- while it is still early in the Region 7-AAA campaign -- the battle for postseason position could well be determined by the outcome in Dawsonville.
