Gainesville metro area ranks 11th on job growth listBy staff GAINESVILLE - Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce officials Thursday afternoon announced a feather in the cap of the Gainesville metro area.
Garner Economics’ September 2012 Progress Report found that 23 metro areas in the country outpaced the rest of the nation in employment growth rate, according to the chamber. That outpacing growth was for every month since September 2010. The Gainesville metro area ranked 11th on the list. “This report on metro area job growth from Garner Economics reflects positive job creation in Gainesville Hall County,” said Greater Hall Chamber President & CEO Kit Dunlap. “We have outpaced national growth every month for several years and remain in the top percentile.” Thursday's announcement came at the Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors meeting.
