GAINESVILLE - WomenSource plans a program next week entitled “Winding Down the North Georgia Wine Highway.”

Presented by Randall Murray, it will be featured at the monthly Brown Bag Lunch Thursday at noon, sponsored and catered by Oakwood Occasions.

Murray has been a wine writer and educator for more than 30 years, writing for newspapers and magazines in Pennsylvania, Florida and Georgia. He has been honored by the Academy of Wine Communications for his contributions to the industry. For many years his wine columns were syndicated nationally through the Los Angeles Times/Washington Post and Knight Ridder/Chicago Tribune syndicates. He has taught wine appreciation at colleges and
universities in Florida, Pennsylvania and Georgia, and now offering his courses at Brenau University's Learning and Leisure Institute (BULLI).

The title of his courses and columns is "Wine Without Pretense," which illustrates his philosophy that wine is and can be a fun part of daily life, not something to fear.

In addition he has written food and restaurant columns for a number of newspapers and magazines. He moved to Gainesville in 2005.

He will talk about wineries of Northeast Georgia, their strong points, and how their wines continue to improve and
impress.

OUTREACH AGENCY OF THE MONTH

The WomenSource Outreach Agency for October is the Children’s Center for Hope and Healing.

Attendees are asked to bring individually wrapped snack items (ex. cookies, chips, fruit snacks, etc.) to be given to children as a snack when they come to the Center. Emily McMath, Director of Development and Finance for Children’s Center for Hope and Healing, will present information on how the organization is serving women and children in the community.

The Brown Bag Luncheons are held on the first Thursday of each month at the Frances Meadows Aquatic & Community Center, located at 1545 Community Way NE. They are open to the public. You do not need to be a member of
WomenSource to attend; however, because lunch is included in the program, reservations are required by Monday, October 1, for Thursday's session. Doors open and lunch is served beginning at 11:45 a.m.
The program begins promptly at 12:00.

The cost to attend the Brown Bag Lunch is $5.00 for Founding & Annual Members and $6.00 for Non-members. Payments are accepted at the door.
