CUMMING - Forsyth County fire officials have been on the scene of a blaze at Cowarts Mulch Products off Georgia 400 since just after 3:00 Monday morning.

Forsyth County Fire Division Chief Jason Shivers says the fire is contained to the property on Shiloh Road and no one is in danger.

"There is no danger to any other structures or any other property nearby. It's on their property," said Shivers. "It's within the piles of mulch and the raw logs that mulch is produced from."

Shivers said while a cause for the fire hasn't been confirmed, it is likely there was spontaneous combustion in one or more of the mulch piles, which he said is common.

Shivers did say there could be some traffic delays on Georgia 400 because of smoke wafting across the highway.
