Softball: Buford shuts down North Hall, 9-0
GAINESVILLE -- Buford softball scored early and often en route to a 9-0, five inning defeat of North Hall on Thursday in Gainesville.
The Lady Wolves (18-1, 6-0 Region 7-AAA) scored in every inning of the game, beginning with three runs in the top of the first inning, while Buford sophomore Jordan Deep led off the third inning with a monster home run to left centerfield that cleared the fence and the trees behind the North Hall softball field.
Deep just missed another home run in the fourth inning, hitting another shot that landed at the base of the wall, for a double.
Meanwhile, sophomore pitcher Bria Bush (12-1) allowed only two hits in five innings, striking out six, and walking two for her 10th complete game and fourth shutout of the year. North Hall batters moved past first base once during the game -- on a passed ball in the first inning.
Jordan Deep finished the game 2-for-3 at the plate with two RBIs and two runs scored, while Tessa Daniels also went 2-for-3 with two RBIs. Remington Hasty also added a double, two RBIs and a run scored, while Baylee Sexton was 3-for-4 with an RBI, two runs scored and two stolen bases.
Buford's next game will be Tuesday against St. Pius in Buford.
