Forsyth Co. man arrested for stealing eagle sculptureBy Katie Crumley Access Insider CUMMING - An arrest was made Monday in the case of a 400-pound bronze eagle statue that went missing from a Forsyth County recreation area last month.
Forsyth County Sheriff's Office Spokeswoman Karleen Chalker said 29-year-old Pedro Castro Garcia of Forsyth County has been charged with theft by taking in the case. "The stolen statue was actually located in a storage shed at Mr. Garcia's residence on September the 12th," she said. Chalker said the sculpture was found in good condition and has been returned to county officials. She said they're still investigating whether or not Garcia had any help moving the 6-foot tall statue from the Big Creek Greenway trail head. © Copyright 2013 AccessNorthGa.com
