Blaze damages kitchen in Buford houseBy Derreck Booth Editor BUFORD - Fire did heavy damage to the kitchen of a Buford house just before noon Monday. According to Gwinnett County Fire Lt. Colin Rhoden, it happened in the 800 block of Old Spring Way.
Firefighters used three fire attack lines to get through the heavy heat, smoke and fire. No one was home at the time of the blaze, and no one was hurt. Two adults and two children have been displaced as a result of the fire. Investigators have determined the cause was materials, other than cooking implements, on the cooking surface. An alert caller to 911 had noticed heavy smoke coming from the house. In addition to the kitchen damage, officials said there was moderate smoke through the entire house. © Copyright 2013 AccessNorthGa.com
