Panthers rally to beat Athens Christian

JEFFERSON Kyle Daniel threw for 322 yards and four touchdowns to lead Jackson County to a 39-21 win over Athens Christian Friday night.

The Panthers (2-1) trailed 14-13 in the second quarter but scored the final 25 points of the game to pull away for the win.

Xavier Harper had 10 catches for 225 yards and three touchdowns receiving for Jackson County. Dustin Scott had 43 yards and one TD rushing and caught four passes for 20 yards and one TD for the Panthers.

Chandler Lanier had an interception return for a touchdown on defense for Jackson County. Evan Breakspear had 12 tackles for the Panthers.

Jackson County will open its Region 8-AAA schedule next week at home against rival East Jackson.
