COAL MOUNTAIN -- North Forsyth football has already tripled its win total from a season ago.
The Raiders moved to 3-0 on the season on Friday night courtesy a 28-12 defeat of Cherokee in Coal Mountain.
North Forsyth built a 21-6 halftime lead and responded to a third quarter Cherokee score with an 18 yard touchdown pass from quarterback Harris Roberts to Justin Stanley to put the contest out of reach.
Harris finished 8-of-11 through the air for 134 yards and three touchdowns, including scoring tosses to Branson Marks (20 yards) and Tanner Riddle -- who caught three passes for 80 yards, rushed for 68 yards and added 87 yards in kick returns.
Jamal Davenport (43 yards rushing) opened the scoring for North Forsyth on a short scoring blast in the first quarter. North Forsyth led the rest of the way.
The Raiders defense was led by defensive end Colby Gossett and inside linebacker Eric Fitzgerald.
North Forsyth will play host to Chattahoochee next Friday.
