5 injured in wreck near Cleveland restaurant
By Dean Dyer Staff
CLEVELAND - Five people were injured in a three-vehicle accident at the Huddle House at the intersection of Wilford Ash Parkway and North Main Street in Cleveland Friday.
The accident occurred just before noon when a vehicle ran out of control striking one vehicle and a curb, then the concrete base of a light fixture and narrowly missing the Huddle House restaurant and customers inside.
There were five people in the sports utility vehicle. Authorities said they were all transported to the hospital for treatment. The extent of their injuries is not believed to be serious.
Officials on the scene said the driver and a passenger of the vehicle that was hit first were not injured.
The light fixture struck by the runaway vehicle fell onto a third vehicle, causing significant damage, however, the driver of that car did not appear to be injured.
The Georgia State Patrol is investigating, and complete details are still unclear about what might have contributed to the accident.
