Softball: Lady Elephants rout Cedar Shoals

ATHENS – Gainesville exploded for its largest run output of the season Thursday in a 15-2 win over Cedar Shoals in five innings in Region 8-AAAAA girls softball action.

Kayla Street earned the win for the Lady Elephants (5-16, 2-5 in region) with three strikeouts.

Street also had three hits and four RBI to lead the Gainesville offense. Rachel Funk had two hits and two RBI and Tanesha Maddox got her first two hits of the season and scored twice for the Lady Elephants.

Abby Smallwood and Kaitlyn Roper each had one hit for Gainesville.
