CUMMING - A large eagle sculpture stolen from the Big Creek Greenway in Forsyth County last month has been recovered.

According to Forsyth County Sheriff's Office investigators, the sculpture was recovered on Wednesday evening at an undisclosed residence in Forsyth County. The sculpture is reported to be in good condition.

"The involvement of the community in providing information is what led to the recovery of the sculpture," said Sheriff Ted Paxton.

The 400-lb. sculpture was reported stolen from the Big Creek Greenway trailhead off of Carolene Way in south Forsyth County on Aug. 28. Since that time, media attention and a reward from the local sculptor, Gregory Johnson, generated tips from the public, according to investigators.

At this point, no arrests have been made.
