Cumming/Forsyth County take 100 Best honorBy Derreck Booth Editor CUMMING - During a live webcast, officials in Cumming/Forsyth County learned Wednesday their community is one of the 100 Best Communities for Young People. The distinction comes from America's Promise Alliance.
According to the organization's website, the honors go to communities best reflecting its five promises. They are: caring adults, safe places, a healthy start, effective education and opportunities to help others. The organization also looks at work toward increasing graduation rates. According to the alliance, Cumming/Forsyth County is a second-time 100 Best winner for providing support to youth through employment, mentoring, leadership and bullying prevention efforts. Houston and Troup Counties in Georgia also made the list. The winners were chosen from a pool of 320 nominees. America's Promise Alliance bills itself as the largest partnership dedicated to improving the lives of children and youth. Link: More Information © Copyright 2013 AccessNorthGa.com
