DEMOREST -- The Piedmont College volleyball team spread the wealth in the team's 3-0 victory over visiting Point University Tuesday in PC's Cave Arena. The Lady Lions downed the SkyHawks 25-9, 25-18, 25-20 to move to 6-2 on the season.
A season-high 13 players made their way to the box score with 10 different players recording a kill. Kaitlin Norman of Good Hope and Jennifer Opper of Clearwater, Fla., led the way with eight kills apiece with teammate Katie Byrd, of Acworth, adding five.
Chicamauga’s Katheryn Knarr (15), Ball Ground’s Ashley Fannon (10) and Kennesaw’s Xandy Green (9) combined for 34 assists while defensive specalist Paige Eslinger of Ringgold totaled 17 digs with Norman pitching in with 11 pick ups.
Piedmont will stay in non-conference with a 7 p.m. first serve against local-rival Toccoa Falls College on Thursday, Sept. 13 and will wrap up the six-match homestand with a non-conference tri-match on Saturday, Sept. 15 as they host Covenant College and LaGrange College.
