Volleyball: Johnson sweeps 8-AAAA matches

SUGAR HILL – Johnson swept a pair of key Region 8-AAAA matches Tuesday in girls volleyball action.

The Lady Knights (12-5, 2-1 in region) opened with a 25-8, 25-8 win over Lumpkin County and then whipped Lanier 25-17, 25-8 in the nightcap.

Kelly Chance helped pace Johnson with 13 aces and 22 assists. LeJavian Ratliff added 11 kills and seven digs and Savannah Turk had 13 kills for the Lady Knights.

Christina Petit had six aces and three kills and Kari Sloan had five kills.
