JEFFERSON Jefferson scored one run in the first inning on a single, a walk, and an error and made it stand up in a 1-0 win over Washington-Wilkes Tuesday in Region 8-A-AA girls softball action.

The Lady Dragons (8-11, 4-1 in region) stayed tied with Union County atop the subregion standings with the win, their third straight.

Lindsey Miles singled to start the game and then scored on a Washington-Wilkes error after moving to second on a walk Ashley Boyd.
