Volleyball: Lady Vikings make history during Playdate

The No. 9 East Hall Lady Vikings took their overall season record to 16-5, (2-0 in region play) with four wins at the Prince Avenue Playday on Saturday.

It was the first time that the Lady Vikings ever went undefeated in a Saturday playdate. The 16-5 start is also the best in school history.

The Lady Vikings beat Eastside in straight sets (25-12, 25-21). They then defeated Walnut Grove in three sets (25-19, 23-25, 15-12). East Hall also defeated Loganville (25-22, 25-23). To end the day, the Lady Vikings defeated Prince Avenue (25-23, 26-24).

Tarryn Long scored nine straight points on serve in the second game against Prince Avenue with the team down 17-24 to win the match.

Brittney Campbell also had 15 points on serve with four aces. She also had 22 digs, six kills and 73 assists. Emily Hoggard had 15 points on serve with an ace, 31 kills, one block and 25 digs, while Kara Hix scored 22 points on serve with seven aces, three assists, five kills and 60 digs.
TT Shelton also scored 21 points on serve with nine aces, 10 kills, five assists, one block and 31 digs, and Tarryn Long had 29 points scored on serve, 13 aces, 38 kills, two assists and 29 digs. Emily Roberts also had five points scored on serve with two aces, two assists, two digs and four kills, and Allyson Segars had one kill, one block and two digs on the day and Cassida Shockley added two kills and one dig.

The team will play at St. Pius on Tuesday night against St. Pius and Buford in Area 5-AAA.
