Cross country: North Hall, White County excel at Clara Bowl

White County's Jenna Gearing wins at the Clara Bowl in Rome on Saturday.

ROME -- Northeast Georgia's prep cross country teams were well represented at Saturday's Berry College Clara Bowl Invitational in Rome.

North Hall's boys won out of a field of 37 teams from Classes A-AAAAA, while White County's girls finished second, led by individual champion Jenna Gearing. The North Hall girls also finished third in the race.

Gearing finished in 19 minutes, 40 seconds -- 33 seconds ahead of the second place finisher.

Witt Nix led the Trojans, finishing third overall (16:45).

Meanwhile, West Hall's boys also finished in 15th place with White County's boys 19th. West Hall's girls finished in 11th place.
