Milton Martin Honda sponsors new scholarships for Hall County Schools
GAINESVILLE – The owners of Milton Martin Honda of Gainesville Wednesday announced new scholarships for each of the eight Hall County high schools to be given to deserving students planning to attend the Mike Cottrell School of Business at North Georgia College & State University. Owners Butch Miller and Jim Foote made the announcement during a luncheon at Chattahoochee Country Club, held by the Mike Cottrell School of Business.
"Jim and I are both graduates of North Georgia," Miller said, "and we both were given great opportunities while there. We want to emphasize our community and our base with a focus on the students of Hall County Schools, and so we will be offering a scholarship to each school every year for one student who plans to attend the Mike Cottrell School of Business."
A $500 scholarship will be awarded annually to a student of each school, who will be chosen by the Mike Cottrell School of Business, creating a yearly scholarship amount of $4,000. Foote and Miller have committed to providing the scholarship for the next three years.
"It is our hope to expand upon or at least continue the scholarship after those three years," Miller said.
Dr. Donna T. Mayo, dean of the Mike Cottrell School of Business, thanked Foote and Miller for their investment in the future of Hall County Schools and the Mike Cottrell School of Business.
"We are tremendously grateful to Milton Martin Honda for this generous gift," Mayo said.
School administrators from several Hall County high schools, including principals and several career counselors, attended the luncheon.
