Softball: Errors cost Rabun in loss to Jefferson

JEFFERSON -- Morgan McKinney scattered five hits to lead Jefferson to a 4-0 win over Rabun County in Region 8B-AA play Wednesday.

The Lady Dragons (7-11, 3-1 in subregion) have won two straight and three of their last four games after a 4-10 start.

Jefferson broke a scoreless tie in the fourth with three unearned runs on a two-out error by the Lady Wildcats. The Lady Dragons added another unearned run in the sixth inning.

Ashley Boyd and Meagan Faulkner each had two hits to lead the Jefferson offense. Emily Dufty, McKinney, Cason Anderson, and Emily Holman each had one hit for the Lady Dragons.

Daniela Olvera went the distance for Rabun County (5-11, 0-4) surrendering eight hits and striking out two.

Natalie Webb had two hits for the Lady Wildcats and MacKenzie York, Bailey Shope, and Olvera each had one hit for Rabun County.
