Early Sept. events at History CenterBy Staff GAINESVILLE - The Northeast Georgia History Center has announced its early September lineup of events.
*Sunday, September 9, 1 to 4 p.m. Family Day Gold Rush: The North Georgia 29ers Learn about the 1829 Gold Rush — Pan for gold, make a quill for storing gold, learn how to use gold as currency, play the miners’ tools memory game, meet Chris Worick, author of Dahlonega Activity Book for Children and Tim Westover, author of Auraria, view exhibit of gold bullion and gold-flecked Dahlonega bricks, and much more. Admission is free, courtesy of North Georgia Eye Clinic and Laser Center.
