Jackson Co. boy airlifted after hunting accidentBy Katie Crumley Access Insider JEFFERSON - An accidental shooting over the weekend in Jackson County sends a young teenager to an Atlanta hospital.
Jackson County Emergency Services Director Steve Nichols said a 13-year-old boy was shot in the ankle while dove hunting near Hurricane Shoals Park Saturday night. Nichols said Colin Hitzges was transported via air ambulance to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston.
