Healthcare Reform Seminar Sept. 13

GAINESVILLE - The Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce, North Georgia Health System and Turner Wood & Smith Insurance will host a Healthcare Reform Seminar on Thursday, September 13 from 8:30 a.m.-11:00 a.m. at the Georgia Mountains Center.

The seminar will update businesses and the community on the impact of Healthcare Reform, featuring a panel of experts in the field of healthcare.
"We all need to understand the changes in healthcare insurance," said Greater Hall Chamber President/CEO Kit Dunlap. "This is a seminar that will provide valuable information and resources for individuals and businesses on how healthcare reform affects us all."

PANEL

Rich Sanders of Sanders Law Firm represents clients on a broad range of issues, including business transactions, fraud and abuse compliance, Medicare reimbursement, antitrust policy, and legislative activities and assists providers in their relationships with federal and state regulatory agencies. Rich serves on the adjunct faculty at Emory University teaching courses in business and regulatory law and is a former U.S. intelligence officer.
Al Ertel is Chief Operating Officer at Alliant Health Plans. A provider founded not for profit company, Alliant has been providing health coverage in Georgia for over 15 years. Al was appointed by Governor Deal to serve on the Healthcare Exchange Advisory Board, and he is an active board member of the Georgia Chamber of Commerce.

Tony Herdener has served as the Chief Financial Officer of Northeast Georgia Health System since 1995. He is a CPA, and prior to joining NGHS, was CFO of Saint Joseph's Health System of Atlanta. Tony has led several financing projects totaling over $700 million to fund NGHS growth, and maintain NGHS "A" Rating with credit agencies. Tony is an active member of the Georgia CFO Networking Group.

Rob Fowler is Executive Vice President and Partner at Turner, Wood & Smith Insurance, North Georgia s oldest and largest independent insurance agency. Rob specializes in employee benefits coverage and is recognized as a leader in the insurance profession, in community service and volunteerism, and is a visionary for quality growth and development.
