Toccoa legislator named to Senate Aging Study Committee
ATLANTA - State Sen. John Wilkinson (R-Toccoa) has been named to the Senate Aging Study Committee.
Im honored to have been tapped to serve on this committee, said Wilkinson. It's vital that lawmakers are aware of the issues that face Georgians young and old. This committee is a step forward to ensure the state is providing the best possible care to seniors.
The committee will examine if the state is prepared to handle the growing needs of the seniors in Georgia. This population sector is growing at a pace that one in four Georgians will be over 55 years by 2030. Members will determine if any issues need to be addressed by through legislation. The committee will complete its study by the end of this year.
