MOUNT AIRY -- Size certainly didn't matter in Mt. Airy on Friday night.
Class AAA White County pulled off an impressive win over Class AAAAAA Habersham Central, blanking the Raiders 31-0.
The Warriors (1-0) surged ahead 9-0 in the first half and pulled away down the stretch, keeping the Habersham offense in check through much of the contest -- the Raiders managed just three snaps inside the White County 20-yard line during the night.
Quarterback Will Brock helped pace the White County attack, rushing 16 times for 83 yards and touchdown, while Sam Turner also scored and Dalton Whitfield added a five-yard scoring run.
The Warriors also forced a safety and managed a 39-yard halfback touchdown pass from Maurice Sutton to Andrew Bergin, as White County pulled off its first win in the rarely-played series.
Sydnee Mulligan led Habersham (0-1) with 62 yards rushing on 14 carries.
The Raiders will look to bounce back next week at Stephens County.
White County will play host to Lumpkin County in Cleveland.
