1 airlifted from south Gainesville crash

GAINESVILLE - An air ambulance responded to transport a patient from a single-vehicle crash on Leeland Road in south Gainesville Friday evening.

Authorities said the wreck occurred shortly after 6 p.m. near Poplar Springs Church.

They said power poles were also knocked down in the crash, and power crews were responding to the scene.

Officials said Leeland Road was also shut down while emergency personnel responded.

No other details were immediately available.
