Forsyth County authorities are looking for this copper eagle sculture, reported missing from one of the county's reacreational areas.
CUMMING – Forsyth County authorities are looking for a bronze sculpture of an eagle that has been reported missing from the Bethelview Road trail head of the Big Creek Greenway.

County officials believe the sculpture was taken Monday evening or early Tuesday morning.

Autorities are unsure how the thieves made off with the art piece, which is estimated to be approximately 6 feet tall with an 8-foot wingspan and weighs roughly 400 pounds.

“This is the first time something of this nature has occurred at a Forsyth County park or recreational area,” Parks and Recreation Director Jerry Kinsey said. “It is certainly our hope that the sculpture will be returned.”

Funded by a grant, the sculpture was installed at the trail head in April.

Anyone with information regarding the sculpture is asked to call the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office at 770-781-3047.
