War Eagles and Trojans fired up for rivalry battle (Video)

Chestatee coach Stan Luttrell, left, and North Hall coach Bob Christmas, right, will lead their teams into a showdown on Friday at Chestatee.
GAINESVILLE -- The Chestatee-North Hall rivalry has seen mainly one-way traffic during its 10-year history, but the War Eagles are determined to improve on their 1-9 mark against the Trojans -- beginning with Friday’s season-opening showdown at Chestatee.
With almost 50 combined juniors and seniors on the roster, the War Eagles feature one of their most experienced teams ever and all of them are focused on notching their program’s first win over the Trojans since 2005.
Just don’t expect North Hall to be too hospitable about that.
The Trojans are also eager to get their season going and maintain their dominance in the emotional showdown -- which will be broadcast live on 102.9 FM WDUN.
This year’s North Hall squad will feature a few new wrinkles in both its offensive and defensive schemes, and both players and coaches are eager to see how those alterations hold up under game pressure.
Earlier this week Access North Georgia sports editor Morgan Lee caught up with both teams to talk about the rivalry and the game ahead. To watch a video presentation, simply scroll down and click “play.”
