Jefferson man charged with helping inmate escapeBy Katie Crumley Access Insider BUFORD - A Jefferson man is facing charges for allegedly helping an inmate escape from a prison in Buford.
Gwinnett County Detention Center records show 22-year-old Kenneth Gregory Williams has been charged with violation of oath by public officer and aiding and permitting escape. Williams was reportedly employed by Phillips State Prison at the time of the incident. He's scheduled to appear in Gwinnett County Magistrate Court for a hearing Friday.
