GAINESVILLE (AP) Storms passing over north Georgia have brought little relief to Lake Lanier, a reservoir northeast of Atlanta that's part of a tri-state water dispute.

On Friday, the lake on the Chattahoochee River was holding almost 1,063 feet of water. That level was nearly unchanged over the last three days even though Gainesville recorded almost four inches of rain since Wednesday. The lake is about 8 feet below full.

According to reports, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers spokesman Patrick Robbins said that just over a third of an inch of rain had flowed into the reservoir in a day.

Alabama and Florida have filed lawsuits over the years arguing that metro Atlanta takes too much water from Lake Lanier, leaving too little for communities and wildlife downstream.
