Winder Police search for suspects in armed robbery
By Katie Crumley Access Insider
WINDER - Winder Police are looking for three men who they say robbed a man at gunpoint while he held a 1-year-old child in his arms.
Winder Police Officer Chris Cooper said 23-year-old Nicholas Brandon Williams, 33-year-old Antonio Lemont Cain and a third unidentified man entered an apartment on Apperson Drive Wednesday, where one of them pulled out a gun and put it in the victim's face while the other two suspects searched the home.
"We were told by the victim that the two suspects there were able to take $1,100 in cash, along with the victim's cell phones," said Cooper.
He said the suspects were seen leaving in a light grey four-door car, possibly a newer model Malibu or Monte Carlo.
Cooper said Williams has been charged with armed robbery, two counts of aggravated assault, cruelty to children in the third degree and use of a weapon during the commission of a crime. He said Cain has been charged with party to the crime of armed robbery after being identified as the person driving the getaway car for Nicholas and the other unknown male.
Cooper said it is believed that Williams may be staying in the Atlanta area in an attempt to avoid capture. Williams is also wanted in connection to a strong arm robbery that occurred in Winder on July 29.
Anyone with information is urged to call Detective Gregg Teatino of the Winder Police Department at (770) 867-2156 or at (770) 307-3064.
