Man struck by vehicle in Jackson Co. identifiedBy Katie Crumley Access Insider BRASELTON - No charges have been filed after a supposed hitchhiker was hit by a vehicle over the weekend in Jackson County.
An official with the Georgia State Patrol said 20-year-old Larry Andrew Evans was walking in the westbound lane of Highway 124 around 4 a.m. Saturday when he was struck by a Honda Civic being driven by 23-year-old Joshua Casey Wiley of Hoschton. They said Evans, also of Hoschton, was transported to Atlanta Medical Center via air ambulance. "The patient was listed in critical condition by us, and we flew him through Air Methods to Atlanta Medical Center in Atlanta with a possible head injury," said Jackson County Emergency Services Director Steve Nichols. The state patrol spokesperson said a witness told troopers that Evans had been seen hitchhiking in or near the center lane on three different occasions. Evans' current condition remains unknown. © Copyright 2013 AccessNorthGa.com
