Authorities identify drowning victimBy Derreck Booth Editor CUMMING - We now know the name of the man who lost his life after swimming in Lake Lanier yesterday Thursday afternoon.
Forsyth County Coroner Lauren McDonald identified the victim as 44 year old Rodrigo Bernal-Trejo. Forsyth County rescuers scrambled to the shores of West Bank Park where Trejo went under around 3:45 p.m. "We immediatly began a surface and underwater search operation," Fire Capt. Jason Shivers said. Rescuers recovered Trejo from 11 feet of water, 50 feet from shore. Despite CPR and rescue attempts, Trejo was pronounced dead at Northside Hospital Forsyth. He had arrived recently from Mexico to visit family in the Cumming area, according to Forsyth County Sheriff's Office Spokesman Karleen Chalker. © Copyright 2013 AccessNorthGa.com
