CORNELIA – Habersham County children had an opportunity to get behind the steering wheel of a fire truck, spray a fire hose, practice dialing 9-1-1, and see police dogs during Thursday’s Public Safety Day at Chick-fil-A in Cornelia.
The event, held from 4-7 p.m. outside the Cornelia restaurant, featured the Habersham County Sheriff’s Office K-9 units, fire safety exhibits by Habersham County and Cornelia fire departments, Baldwin Fire Department’s Pluggie robot, child safety seat exhibit by Cornelia Police Department, the opportunity to practice dialing 9-1-1 with Habersham County dispatchers, and a chance to look at an ambulance from Habersham Emergency Medical Services. In addition, a bounce house was there to entertain children. © Copyright 2013 AccessNorthGa.com
