CUMMING - Forsyth County authorities were scheduled Wednesday morning to use a new drug incinerator for the first time.

The Drug Terminator is a device used for the safe and efficient disposal of drugs, according to the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office.

Authorities said the first burn involves about 324 pounds of drugs collected in the Drug Take Back Program. Officials also expect to use the machine to dispose of any drugs confiscated in arrests, after the courts release them.

According to the sheriff's office, the incinerator burns clean and smoke-free.

Wednesday's burn was at the Evidence Unit on Keith Bridge Road in Cumming.
