Worker injured at Cumming fireworks show on road to recoveryBy Katie Crumley Access Insider CUMMING - The man injured earlier this month during Cumming's annual Fourth of July fireworks show is on the road to recovery.
Rick Crumley said he's been working at the Cumming fireworks show for approximately 15 years, and he's never had something like this go wrong before. "As I lit it, it inadvertently got too high... so when that shell went off, it struck the back of my hand, opened it up and broke bones, then hit me in the face and broke my nose," he said. Crumley said doctors were able to save all of his fingers but he'll have to undergo extensive physical therapy. Needless to say, Crumley said he won't be participating in any more fireworks shows anytime in the near future. "I've got too many people saying I'm done," Crumley said. "I'm basically not going to shoot any more." © Copyright 2013 AccessNorthGa.com
