Are There Any Brave Americans Left?

Back when brave Americans decided they had enough of the English King’s taxes, they decided to do something about it. In fact, shop owners, farmers, inventors, and lay people of all sorts, with unwavering determination, took the step to tell the King and the entire world that they would stand firm. They took up weapons against the strongest and best trained army in the world for what they believed in. And guess what? These rag-tag brave Americans won, which is not a small thing!

However, there is a footnote about these brave American patriots that is rarely mentioned. Alongside these lay folks were ministers who felt it was time for them to get involved and lead their flock against oppression. I’m thinking God may have given them insight into the fact that they were losing their privilege of free worship which is also not a small thing.

Today, we are facing the same oppression, particularly with the forthcoming tax deluge associated with Obamacare. However, the landscape is quite different than it was when there were brave lay people and brave ministers who were not scared of the English King.

Today, many of our citizens do not pay any taxes at all. In other words, they are perfectly satisfied with everyone else paying their way. I believe the latest number of people not paying taxes is approaching 50%. We also have approximately 49% of people on food stamps. What I am getting at is, we have a society that has become subservient to the will of man, or to be more succinct, subservient to the will of government. This situation is turning people away from God and churches.

We now have ministers who are in need of the same divine insight of our ancestral ministers. There is a great need now for ministers to warn people of the coming disaster which would require the courage of their forefathers. Is it money they have fear of losing that prevents them from warning their congregations that our religious freedom is at stake? Or is it the fear of saying something to bring the IRS down on them which could remove their tax exempt status?

What is strange and outrageous to me is that liberal politicians can preach liberal policies in churches with no rebuttal, but conservative politicians cannot utter a word about their conservative beliefs all due to who is in power presently. What has people so afraid? Are they leaning too much on “the world” as opposed to God’s strength?

What we have is a society ready to be taken over by government. The American people have been spoon-fed free goodies for so long that they are conditioned to think they cannot succeed without the government – that they can’t make it without this temporal god. To take over America’s society has been the Socialist Liberal’s plan for over 50 years, and it has worked to perfection. People have become weaker and weaker and are afraid to stand on their own merits. And for those in the Christian faith, many are not relying on God as He has planned for them to do.
