Gainesville's Pep Brown tied for ninth in N.Y. golf tourney

ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Gainesville youth golfers are traveling throughout the nation this summer in an effort to improve their games -- including Gainesville High’s Pep Brown.

Brown shot an even-par 72 on Thursday in the Ravenwood Junior Championship in Rochester, N.Y., to move into a tie for ninth place in the American Junior Golf Association tournament.

Brown opened the day tied for 15th.
