TMCF'S Safe Kids Gainesville/Hall Co. to benefit from Gwinnett Braves grant
LAWRENCEVILLE – The Gwinnett Braves have announced the recipient of the club’s June $1,000 grant, honoring deserving organizations in Gwinnett County or its surrounding communities that best exemplify a monthly theme. The Summer Safety themed June grant has been awarded to The Medical Center Foundation, Inc.
The Medical Center Foundation, Inc. (TMCF) was chosen as the recipient of the Summer Safety-themed June grant, honoring an organization that funds or runs safety programs for children.
TMCF’s Healthy Journey Campaign funds the Safe Kids Gainesville/Hall County Water Safety Program, an initiative aimed at decreasing the risk for death and injury among children 14 and under due to drowning. In an effort to prevent drowning, the program will set up life jacket loaner stations around Lake Lanier.
In 2010, Safe Kids Gainesville/Hall County distributed 928 life jackets to families in need. The Gwinnett Braves grant will go directly toward purchasing 83 additional life jackets.
TMCF and the Safe Kids Gainesville/Hall County Water Safety Program will be recognized at Summer Safety Night on Sunday, August 12 at Coolray Field during the Gwinnett Braves’ 5:05 game against Louisville.
