ATLANTA - A number of North Georgia schools will be stops on the 2012 Bus Trip Across Georgia.
The theme this year is "Georgia's Public Schools: Using Technology, Creating Pathways for Student Success."
The World Language Academy in Flowery Branch, West Side Middle School in Barrow County, and South Forsyth High and Kelly Mill Elementary in Forsyth County are among the 10 schools that will be visited during two 2-day trips that are set to occur in late October.
This year’s tour will also stop at two of Georgia’s technical colleges: Lanier Technical College, Oakwood campus, and Gwinnett Technical College, Lawrenceville.
The tour, which includes a combination of educators, business, government and community leaders from around the state, saw its first year in 1993 and has been a fixture in state education circles every year since.
Schools selected as Bus Trip 20 stops have demonstrated an ability to use technology to enhance learning, increase access, and to create opportunities to build the professional development of students and teachers alike.
Exact dates for each school visit have not been determined. Details will be announced later this summer including the application process to participate as a rider or a local visitor to a particular site.
