GAINESVILLE – As part of its longstanding commitment to support the communities in which it does business, Cargill has donated $7,000 to the Georgia Mountain Food Bank and Our Neighbor, Inc.
Donations to the Georgia Mountain Food Bank will help support the purchase of bulk food. This food will be distributed to those in need in Dawson, Forsyth, Hall, Lumpkin, and Union counties. Our Neighbor, Inc. will use its grant to support nutrition at its local homes, which serve people with disabilities, by providing nutrition education.
“As a food company dedicated to nourishing people, we are pleased to help supply nutritious food in our local community,” said Dave Ellis, location manager of the Cargill Dressings, Sauces & Oils facility in Gainesville. “We see value in providing nutrition education, as well as meals, to improve the quality of life for members of our surrounding communities.”
Cargill has contributed nearly $50 million since 2008 to support programs and organizations that improve the nutrition and health of people living in its communities.
