Sawnee EMC announces new addition to billingBy Staff CUMMING - Beginning next month, Sawnee EMC members should notice a “new” addition to their monthly billing statements – a “Quick Response Code” or “QR Code” (as shown to the right) that can be scanned with a smart phone or tablet.
Users of the QR Code will be instantly routed to Sawnee EMC’s Customer Service Portal within Sawnee’s main corporate website (www.sawnee.com). Members will have immediate access to a number of online services and information – they can also view their detailed energy usage, learn about energy saving rebate programs, and even pay their bill online. For members that do not use a smart phone, the same valuable information and services are available online at www.sawnee.com/account_access. Blake House, Vice President of Member Services said, “We understand that QR codes are something that more of our members are using daily; the codes provide a quick and easy way to be immediately directed to a website.” He went on to say “people are constantly on the go, and some members told us that a QR Code would save them valuable time - so, we listened to them.” Sawnee EMC also has recently deployed a smart device app for the iPhone and iPad that gives the user more tools to use, right in the palm of their hand. House added, “The app gives our members a quick way to see where an outage is occurring, see their energy usage in near real time and even let us know when the see a street light that is not working properly”. The smart device app can also be downloaded at the Customer Service Portal at Sawnee’s website. Questions about this new billing statement feature can be directed Sawnee EMC’s Customer Call Center at 770-887-2363 or via email to customerservice@sawnee.com.
